If you are planning an escape to the Maine coast and an intimate, boutique hotel promising a personalized and curated experience is what you crave, Topside Inn may be just the ticket. Topside Inn is a chic coastal retreat that blends design, art and an infusion of local culture, creating an experience that transports you to a “vacation land” state of mind.

With a picture-perfect location at the highest point in town, this 19th-century sea captain’s home has panoramic harbor views, seaside perennial gardens and quiet places to relax while being just steps from all that beautiful Boothbay Harbor has to offer.

The main house along with two classic summer guest houses offer stylish, comfortable accommodations with 21 rooms to choose from that have been creatively redesigned for today’s traveler; many with indoor and outdoor spaces to enjoy the view, a glass of wine or gather with other guests.

The hotel operates seasonally, from early May through late October, and New England hospitality abounds: You’ll sleep on high quality sheets under fluffy duvets, enjoy complimentary in-room coffee service and afternoon home baked treats and savor cocktails and a small bites menu in the new private posh Bar One before walking to a local restaurant.  Enjoy a locally inspired gourmet breakfast each morning prepared by the chef/owners Buzz and Mark and let our concierge services plan your perfect stay.

While the days of printing presses may be over, we continue to honor our history with thoughtful touches. Be on the lookout for typewriters at every turn, artistic nods to typesetting, and quotes from Maine literary luminaries.
